Group Tours & Self-Guided Visits for Adult Learners

Reserve group admission for 10 or more visitors and explore the Museum with an experienced docent or at your own pace. CHM also offers specialty tours tailored for professional groups. Groups receive a 10 percent discount at the Museum store and café.

Reservations ensure that your group moves quickly through ticketing and a brief orientation. Admission is not guaranteed for groups without reservations.

DOCENT-LED TOURS

Trained docents help visitors explore the past, present, and future of computing and technological innovation in our permanent exhibition, Revolution: The First 2000 Years of Computing.

Days and Times

Wednesday and Thursday, 11:30 a.m

Friday, 1:30 p.m.

We accommodate groups of 10 to 30 visitors. Tours last approximately one hour. Tours are given in English. Reservations are required eight weeks in advance.

Self-Guided Visits

All exhibitions and demo labs are open to self-guided groups. Instructors and group leaders are encouraged to design activities that connect CHM’s exhibits to their classroom curriculum.

Wednesday through Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m.

We accommodate groups of 10 to 60 visitors. Please allow approximately two and a half hours for your visit. Reservations are required two weeks in advance.

Specialty Tours and Offerings

Special tours are offered by the CHM Exponential Center. Days, times, and duration for special tours are flexible for up to 30 participants and larger groups may also be accommodated. Please contact us for pricing and availability. 

Silicon Valley Icons

One-hour docent-led private tour explores Silicon Valley’s legendary products, entrepreneurs, and companies in the Revolution exhibit. Highlights include Apple I (1976), the computer that launched Apple Computer, autographed by cofounder Steve Wozniak, and Google Server Engine (1999), one of the server racks that helped launch the internet giant. Exponential Innovation: The Roots of Entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley

Forty-five-minute, docent-led private tour explores the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Silicon Valley traveling back in time from the dot com boom and bust of the early 2000s, through the birth of a homegrown Apple, Inc. and the innovations of Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Center, to spin-off legend Fairchild Semiconductor. Scavenger Hunt

One-hour scavenger hunt through CHM’s signature Revolution exhibit highlights the stories of people, innovations, and companies through the lenses of entrepreneurship and the tech ecosystem of Silicon Valley that has thrived for over half a century. Please contact us for pricing and availability. 

Directions and Parking

Individual cars may park in CHM’s front lot. Bus parking is available in the side lots. If no space is available, buses should park on the access road in areas that are not painted red.
